As anyone that has been following this page knows I have been in the process of remodeling the basement. This has been going on for over two years but I am finally finished and ready for carpet. I had an offer from a friend to help install the carpet but I felt that it would be to much to ask a friend. Instead I decided to go with Home Depot. This turned out to be a big mistake. I vent my frustration with Home Depot and American Carpet here.

The garage and porch are complete. Now I am left with the interior wiring and the drywall along with creating some sort of front walk.Pic1, Pic2, Pic3. The pictures here can be compared with the pictures below to show before and after.

Today we construction started on the garage and front porch. The garage will be the new home for the cobra and get it out from amid the bikes, wagons and paint eaters. Pic1, Pic2, Pic3.

I have started construction on the interior walls and have run most of the wires. I first painted the walls with DryLock to help keep out moisture and then spaced the new wall 6" away from the concrete to let air circulate behind the wall. The basement appears to be a dry one but I still worry about mold. Hopefully this will help. Pic1, Pic2, Pic3. This is the original Linux Server, Pic1, and the new server home during construction. I took some pictures of the basement prior to starting so I would have something to look back on. I have never attempted anything like this so I was expecting to make a few mistakes. Before pictures, Pic1, Pic2, Pic3, Pic4, Pic5.

This is our new house

We had only been living here a couple of weeks when these pictures were taken and things were still a mess. I set the kids computers up in an empty room but I need to find a place where I could work also. The best solution was to remodel the basement and create a downstairs office.
